Trees are a recognized benefit to our environment and quality of life and have proven to have a direct economic enhancement to property. TheL.E.A.F (Let’s Enhance Arlington’s Forests) program aims to increase the canopy cover in Arlington by offering trees for neighborhoods, homeowners, and businesses to plant. Planting trees through L.E.A.F. is advantageous for everyone involved: you, your neighborhood, the city, and particularly the environment.
Through the L.E.A.F. program neighborhoods can receive up to 100 quality trees-FREE! Residents may receive up to two (10 gallon) trees per home. Among the ten approved species are majestic Cedar Elms, Red Oaks, and colorful Redbuds! The city will deliver them at a set date to your project leader. In order to receive your trees, you will be asked to sign a 2-year “Commitment of Care” contract. Forestry employees will stop by annually to check up on the trees.
To apply for your free trees, please visit the official L.E.A.F. program page.
