The Arlington Conservation Council is a non-profit environmental organization focusing on conservation efforts in Arlington and the surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth area. The mission of the ACC is to promote environmental awareness and conservation of Arlington’s natural resources with a focus on sustainable living.
To support the ACC and its mission, citizens are encourage to visit their website and apply for amembership which will be utilized to help sustain such activities as:
- Maintaining and expanding the Molly Hollar Wildscape at Veterans Park
- Marketing Arlington’s environmental challenges and opportunities at special events
- Educating the community about native landscaping
- Advocating opportunities for positive interactions with city officials to encourage positive environmental choices and making Arlington a healthy place to live.
The ACC publishes the Post Oak, a monthly newsletter designed to educate and inform Arlington residents about the organization and environmental happenings. On the third Saturday of every month, you can join members of the ACC at the Blackland Prairie for a prairie restoration work day.
